The term "Steel Guitar"originated in the '20s and '30s, when thousands of musicians discovered the cutting power and punch of National Triolians, Duolians and early Style "O"s. The Delphi captures the classic sound and style of the steel bodied single cone National guitar with the quality and features that modern players require. The Delphi has a steel body and coverplate and has rolled "F" holes. Its mahogany neck meets the body at the twelfth fret and includes rosewood fretboard, crossgrained ivory binding, dot markers, slotted headstock with the traditional National "shield" logo decal and three-on-a plate tuners. The heavy duty industrial "crinkle" finish is an attractive marriage of form and function. It has "the sound" for Delta Blues of the Son House & Bukka White variety and can also be ordered with a square "Hawaiian" neck. The Delphi is currently available 4 different colors*: |
